Having a dysfunctional pelvic floor can cause a myriad of issues—incontinence, chronic pain, erectile dysfunction, and more. People often feel hindered by their pelvic floor dysfunction, but at Crescent Beach Care, we help you find your ideal treatment so you can live life confidently.
But which of our treatments will best fit your needs? Let’s look over all of our treatment options for pelvic floor dysfunction near Palm Coast.
Emsella
Emsella is one of our most popular treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction because it uses HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic) energy to strengthen your pelvic floor. This noninvasive solution balances patient comfort with results, improving pelvic floor function in just a few 30-minute sessions.
Emsella is exceptional at treating stress incontinence and reducing symptoms of other types of incontinence. It also helps to improve symptoms of sexual dysfunction, though we primarily use it to address urinary incontinence.
Medications
If your pelvic floor is hypertonic (too tight) or it contracts and relaxes by itself, then we may recommend treatment with medications. Sometimes Emsella can help with a hypertonic pelvic floor, but other times, a muscle relaxer will be more effective. The most common muscle relaxers we use for the pelvic floor are Diazepam, Baclofen, Cyclobenzaprine, and Tizanidine.
Surgery/Physical Therapy
While we do not offer these services as a primary care clinic, we have a wide network of doctors and providers who we know will deliver the same high-quality treatment you would receive with our team. We work closely with local specialists who will help us centralize your care so you can live comfortably. And many of our treatments pair well with surgical intervention and pelvic floor therapy. These combo treatments can help you heal faster and improve your results so you can enjoy long-lasting relief from the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction.
